Teacher Enhancement Award Program
Through the Chamber's Teacher Enhancement Awards Program (TEAP), monetary awards are made twice each year to classroom teachers from member schools.

These awards are made to assist the classroom teachers with the cost of additional education ... through classes, workshops, seminars, and conferences.  The awards are paid directly to the teacher - not the school - to offset their costs of the approved educational program.  Grants may be used to offset tuition or for registration costs, transportation, or out-of-pocket expenses.

The awards from the TEAP are currently made in March and again in October, with the application deadline in February and September.  Classroom teachers from member schools may call the Chamber, 305-754-5466, for a copy of the one-page TEAP application.

Police Officer of the Quarter/Year
Miami Shores Police Officer John Lee is honored as the Police Officer of the Quarter” for the Miami Shores Police Department . . . during one of the Chamber’s Second Wednesday Breakfast by 2007-2008 Chamber President Douglas Stokesberry, DMD.

Five times per year the Chamber gets to help recognize and honor the Miami Shores Police Department's "Police Officer of the Quarter" and "Police Officer of the Year."

At our Second Wednesday Breakfasts, we host the officer - who has been selected for the award by the senior staff at the Miami Shores Police Department - and present him or her with a plaque, recognizing their accomplishment, and a "goodie bag" from Chamber members.

Outstanding Student Awards
In May of each year, the "Outstanding Students" (from each of our area schools) are honored by the Greater Miami Shores Chamber.

Each participating school is asked to select a student - based on their own criteria - to be hosted by the Chamber at a special breakfast and presented with their award.  Students are selected for a variety of reasons, ranging from athletics or community service to academics or leadership abilities.
